Shush is a free, anonymous, text-only chat-room site you can use right now in your browser — no signup, no email, no app to download. Your identity is yours to keep: there is no real name, no email, and no profile — just a nickname you choose. Join the Lobby and talk freely, or open a private one-to-one message.

Anonymous does not mean anything goes — Shush is for adults (18+) and an admin may review messages to keep the rooms safe, so it is not the place for secrets you need cryptographically private. Block anyone you would rather not hear from with one tap.

How to start chatting

  1. Pick a nickname. No account, no email — just a name to go by (you confirm you are 18+).
  2. Land in the Lobby. You arrive in the always-on public room and can see who is online now.
  3. Join, create, or DM. Open a room someone has started, create your own public or private room, or message anyone one-to-one.

Anonymous, but kept civil

Shush is for adults (18+). You stay anonymous — no personal details are required — and you can block anyone you do not want to hear from. To keep the rooms safe, a platform admin may review messages; there are no claims of end-to-end privacy here, so chat accordingly. Private rooms add a password so only people you share it with can get in.
